“Painting for Pure Joy”
In 1999 I began watercolor painting to help me through a difficult time. The medium captured my interest and I have continued painting ever since. I fell in love with the transparency and spontaneity of the medium In 2007 I retired from school nursing to paint “full time”.
Always amazed by the colors, the shapes, and shadows, I try to communicate the sacredness of what I see and capture that moment in time. Life is so fragile and the moments so fleeting. It is my hope that when you view the painting you will be drawn into it.
I work primarily in the studio from photos taken as reference. I love to experiment with different approaches. Although the paintings are rich with color I tend to use a very limited palette, sometimes only one each of the primary colors. This contributes to a feeling of cohesiveness.
God has not only gifted me with the ability but also the passion.
Commissioned projects are always a possibility. Enjoy!
